Munchkin Tennis
 
For ages 3 - 5 years using soft balls and short rackets.
 
We aim for your child to develop some of the important and foundation skills that they will need for their tennis future. We will be working on the ABC’s which is agility, balance and coordination. Your child learn racket handling with simple ball skills and hitting skills.





Mini Red Tennis
 
For ages 5 - 7 years using soft balls, shorter rackets and smaller courts.
 
We aim to develop important foundation skills that your child will need in their tennis future.  We will be working on the ABC’s which is agility, balance and coordination. By the time your child is at the end of Mini Red they will be able to play a short match.
 
Rackets come in two sizes for Mini Red which is 21 and 23 inches.
 
There is competition for 8&U this is played on the same court size in which your child will be playing on in their lessons. These competitions happen within the MPT program and also around different venues in Kent, for more info please speak to the coaches.
 
Your child will progress when they get to a standard of being able to rally with their peers within the group.





Mini Orange Tennis
 
For ages 8 - 9 years using soft balls on a 3/4 court
 
Children progressing from Mini Red to Orange should be able to perform more advanced ABC skills. They should be able to take their learnt skills from Red onto the Orange court and improve them and also widen their variety of shots.
 
Rackets come in two sizes for Mini Orange which are 23 and 25 inches.
 
There is competition for 9&U this is played on the same court size which your child will be playing on in their lessons. These competitions happen within the MPT program through group competitions and matchplays also within different venues within Kent, for more info please speak to the coaches.





Green Tennis
 
For ages 9 - 12 years using full size court with softer balls than normal yellow balls.
 
Players progressing from Orange will need to adapt their already learnt skills and adapt to a full size court where they use a faster ball. At this stage in their tennis career the player should be able to maintain rallies (if short) and be able to play competitive points.
 
Rackets come in two sizes for Green which are 25 and 26 inches.
 
There is competition for 10&U and 12&U which is on a full sized court. 10&U use green balls, 12&U use yellow balls. These competitions happen within the MPT program through group competitions and matchplays also within different venues within Kent, for more info please speak to the coaches.





Fusion/Yellow Ball
 
For ages 12+ using a full sized court with a normal yellow ball.
 
Players who have progressed from Green should be able to maintain long rallies and start to come up with strategy whilst playing points. Players will be able to display most of the tennis shots with various spins.
 
Rackets at this stage in their tennis career should be full size.
 
There is competition for all age groups for 12+. These competitions happen within the MPT program through group competitions and matchplays also within different venues within Kent, for more info please speak to the coaches.





Platinum
 
For ages 14+ using a full size court with a normal yellow ball.
 
This is very similar to a Fusion group, the player is now displaying an advanced level in tennis and require more performance teaching and competitive points.
 
Rackets at this stage in their tennis career should be full size.
 
There is competition for all age groups for 14+. These competitions happen within the MPT program through group competitions and matchplays also within different venues within Kent, for more info please speak to the coaches.
